Any good book recommendations?
Are you in the mood for fiction or nonfiction?
ReplyDeletefiction! I've been reading too much nonfiction & am looking to get lost in another good story... I'm 1/2 way through "The Help" & want to keep the momentum up. :)
ReplyDeleteI recently read, and thoroughly enjoyed, Kate Morton's "The Forgotten Garden". Also just finished Tim Sandlin's latest, "Lydia" (part of a four part trilogy;) and Christopher Moore's "Bite Me".
ReplyDeleteHave you read Christopher Moore or Tim Sandlin? I love them both: twisted, funny, smart and Sandlin packs heart.
Am also a big fan of Tony Vigorito, Amy Tan, Barbara Kingsolver is always good....
OH! Have you read "Life of Pi"? If not, do. Is definitely at the top of my love-list with a few others.
Then, of course, if you haven't read all of Tom Robbins books...
:)
Books. I could go on and on. They are truly one of my greatest loves.
Oh! Thnks Misha! Yes, "Life of Pi" was great. :) I've also read Amy Tan & Tom Robbins but not Christopher Moore or Tim Sandlin... yet. Looks like I'm going to have to go to the library next week! Sigh. Books! So many & so little time!
ReplyDeleteKeep the recommendations coming!
Anyone else on LibraryThing?
Christopher Moore was recommended to me because I love Tom Robbins (via Amazon). He's a goof, but a smart goof. If you are going to check him out, I recommend beginning with "Lamb" or "Fluke". Pop over to Amazon, read the reviews and see what you think. He has lots of places to start.
ReplyDeleteSame for Sandlin. I found him because Christopher Moore recommended him on his Myspace blog. I love Tim.
What's LibraryThing?
I am going to have to pick your recommendations!
ReplyDeleteCheck it out= www.librarything.com
It's a place you can catalog your personal library online... You then can meet & look through other libraries that have similar reading habits/materials.
If you decide to join (It's free for your first 100 books or so), make sure to look at the the "Early Reviewers"-- they give out free advance copies of books for reviews. :)
Sounds promising! Thanks :)
